Job summary

Akima Global Logistics (AGL) seeks a Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) to lead safety herds for DoD contract work at NSA Annapolis, MD. You will implement and enforce the safety program, conduct audits, and coordinate with government representatives to ensure regulatory compliance.

You will monitor hazards, deliver OSHA training, and ensure competent person coverage for identified risks across facilities and utilities.

Qualifications

• Must meet SSHO qualification requirements of EM 385-1-1, including training, experience, and certification.
• Five years of experience on contracts of similar size and complexity, or three years with CSP or safety/health degree.
• Experience on Base Operations Support (BOS) services projects of $10M+ annually, with at least one utilities discipline.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, implement, administer, and enforce the Contractor’s safety program, APP, and critical lift plans.
• Ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA regulations, and contract safety requirements.
• Serve as primary on-site safety authority and OSHA Competent Person for all operations.
• Provide technical safety guidance to managers, supervisors, subcontractors, and employees.
• Develop site-specific safety policies, procedures, and programs to maintain compliance.
