Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking an On-site Utilization Management (UM) Nurse Team Lead to oversee RN staff and coordinate care across the continuum for a defined patient population. You will ensure clinical and documentation standards, support throughput, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and administrative teams to optimize hospital resources.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, mentorship, and real-time problem solving to improve patient outcomes and compliance with UM processes.

Qualifications

• RN must be licensed and in good standing per GA Nurse Practice Act.
• Experience coordinating care across acute to long-term care.
• Strong knowledge of utilization management concepts.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care with Manager, Director and other Healthcare Team Leaders.
• Oversee staffing and daily work distribution for UM staff.
• Monitor productivity, denial ratios, and documentation in Epic UR screens.
• Provide training, supervision, and mentorship to UM staff and students.
• Act as SME for Utilization Review, MCG, and WQ management in Epic.
