Job summary

Precision Drilling is seeking a Rig Electrician for West Texas on-site duties. The role covers installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems on land-based drilling rigs to ensure safe, reliable operations.

You will support repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance on a 2-week on / 2-week off schedule, working closely with rig crews. Requirements include 5–10 years in drilling equipment diagnostics, a high school diploma or trade certification, and proficiency with SAP and Microsoft

Qualifications

5–10 years of experience diagnosing, repairing, and overhauling drilling equipment.
High school diploma or relevant trade certification required.
Strong troubleshooting skills with hydraulic systems and the ability to read and interpret equipment schematics.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems on drilling rigs, including SCR units, VFDs, and PLCs.
Diagnose and repair electrical components such as circuit breakers, panels, lighting systems, junction boxes, and control equipment.
Test circuits, maintain spare parts inventory, and document inspections and repairs.
Collaborate with rig crews, Electrical Foreman, and contractors to ensure safe operations and system reliability.
Provide 24/7 support for equipment breakdowns as required.
