Job summary

Precision Drilling Corporation is seeking a Rig Electrician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems on land-based drilling rigs in Wisconsin. The role operates on a 2-week on/2-week off rotational schedule and supports field operations with safety and reliability.

You will diagnose electrical components, work with SCR units, VFDs, PLCs, and collaborate with rig crews, foremen, and contractors while providing 24/7 support for equipment breakdowns as required.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience diagnosing, repairing, and overhauling drilling equipment.
• High school diploma or relevant trade certification required.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with hydraulic systems and the ability to read and interpret equipment schematics.
• Technical proficiency with SAP (notifications, maintenance reporting) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience with Amphion Drilling Controls, SBCs, and generator controls (Ross Hill/Woodward); valid driver’s license required and must pass pre-employment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems on drilling rigs, including SCR units, VFDs, and PLCs.
• Diagnose and repair electrical components such as circuit breakers, panels, lighting systems, junction boxes, and control equipment.
• Test circuits, manage spare parts inventory, and document inspections and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with rig crews, Electrical Foreman, and contractors to ensure safe operations and system reliability.

DAY IN THE LIFE:

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, including SCR units, VFDs, and PLCs on drilling rigs
• Diagnose and repair electrical components such as circuit breakers, panels, lighting systems, junction boxes, and control equipment

• Adhere to safety and company standards, participate in training, and provide 24/7 support for equipment breakdowns as required

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
