Kaufman Homes in Oregon is seeking a Residential Construction Estimator to evaluate project costs for new construction and remodels. The Estimator supports the Sales Manager by providing preliminary budgets or contract-ready estimates and specifications.

The role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of materials and methods, and the ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines. This is an on-site position with the company emphasizing integrity and excellence.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of construction materials and methods.
• Self-motivated and able to prioritize work based on deadlines.
• Must have an approved driving record, valid driver’s license, and meet insurability standards.
• Must have an approved background check.
• Must maintain a substance-free working environment.

Responsibilities

• Reviews construction plans, specifications, and drawings to understand scope and requirements.
• Conducts site visits and assessments for accurate cost estimation.
• Estimates quantities for lumber, concrete, fixtures, finishes, etc.
• Evaluates subcontractor proposals and negotiates pricing.
• Determines costs of materials, labor, equipment, permits, and other expenses.
• Creates cost breakdowns and tracks revisions.
• Develops contract specifications to accompany estimates.
• Prepares client proposals and transfers information to project manager after contract.
