Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a Resident Manager for the Anaheim ARC to oversee facility operations and beneficiary supervision on-site. You will supervise desk, canteen, laundry, and janitorial staff, manage supplies, and ensure safety and compliance with program policies.

You will also provide orientation to residents, monitor activities, conduct crisis counseling, and coordinate events.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Program graduate with continuing involvement in a program of recovery is desirable, but not required.
• Ability to supervise beneficiaries as revealed by experience, training, and/or interview.
• Possession of valid Driver's License (Class B in California) with acceptable driving record. Ability to acquire the license within 45 days is acceptable.
• Integrity, resourcefulness, initiative, and evidence of self-improvement.
• Demonstrate ability to support and apply the philosophy and goals of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center Program as stated in the Mission Statement.
• No evidence of existing chemical dependency.
• If chemically dependent, shall be free of and have had at least one year free of any chemical abuse or dependency.
• Must reside on-site in room designated for Residence Manager.

Responsibilities

• FACILITY MANAGEMENT: Ensure proper maintenance of grounds and buildings, scheduling needed repairs and other maintenance work within guidelines provided by the Administrator.
• Provide routine supervision of residence desk, canteen, laundry, and janitorial staff including training in canteen operations, laundry operations, and customer relations.
• Supervise inside or outside workers for special projects or repairs.
• Order needed supplies for proper operation of the residence including canteen, janitorial, and office.
• BENEFICIARY SUPERVISION: Provide orientation of new beneficiaries to residence requirements.
• Assign rooms including private rooms; conduct random locker checks at least monthly.
• Monitor activities including prescription medications, house meetings, and devotions.
• Provide short-term crisis counseling and recreational programming for residents.
• Supervise Breathalyzer testing and urine test collections with proper procedures.
• Be a role model and discharge those whose behavior warrants it.
• Prepare and submit ARCC-210 forms as needed.
• Make security rounds each evening and ensure regular fire drills.
• Maintain order and discipline; coordinate special events with the Center Administrator.
• Drive a Salvation Army passenger van as part of duties.
• Maintain records and statistics; coordinate vacation time for coverage.
• Know ARC Safety Regulations and ensure compliance; maintain confidentiality as required.
