Job summary

AECOM is actively seeking a Resident Engineer for construction inspection services to oversee civil work in Austin, Texas. This on-site, full-time role focuses on quality assurance, contract compliance, and detailed reporting.

You will inspect, document, and communicate findings to management while coordinating with the contractor to ensure schedule alignment and safety compliance on a major infrastructure project.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree plus 6 years of related experience or equivalent experience/education.
• Registered professional engineer.
• US citizenship required; valid driver’s license and ability to pass MVR check.
• OSHA 30-hour Construction Health and Safety.
• Knowledge of Texas DOT standards and heavy civil construction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe Contractor’s construction activities and verify conformance with contract documents.
• Coordinate with Contractor to identify upcoming work and verify against look ahead schedules.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, and other documentation for compliance.
• Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly field reports and logs.
• Monitor schedule adherence and support with change orders and field modifications.
• Ensure QA/QC testing and material approvals per contract requirements.
