Job summary

John Crane, a business of Smiths Group, is seeking a Customer Reliability Engineer or Technical Specialist to work on-site at a customer facility in the United States. The role includes independent seal evaluations, equipment selections, and recommendations with oversight from the account manager.

Responsibilities include reviewing applications for MTBR improvements, directing installation and commissioning of mechanical seals, analyzing data with ServiceMax, and providing training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering preferred.
• Experience with mechanical seals and rotating equipment.
• Strong PC and software knowledge, including MS Office.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Reviews customer applications and proposes MTBR improvements with oversight from sales/ regional engineer.
• Directs installation and commissioning of mechanical seals and their auxiliary support systems.
• Observes and evaluates customer data; reports results using ServiceMax.
• Maintains equipment surveys and communicates with customers, personnel and vendors.
• Provides customer training for maintenance and operations; assists with Management of Change.
• Collects new equipment data sheets for review by the account manager/ regional engineer.
