Job summary

Phoenix House Venice is seeking a Recovery Support Specialist (Full-Time) for the Venice, CA AM Shift. This on-site role provides supervision to patients and supports service delivery in accordance with program policies and safety guidelines.

The RSS must have a high school diploma or equivalent; DHCS-certified AOD counselor or six months related experience are acceptable. A valid CA driver’s license is required, with a Tue-Sat 7:30am–4:00pm schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• DHCS AOD Counselor certification or six months related experience.
• Valid California driver license and insurance; safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient supervision in a safe, therapeutic setting.
• Promotes appropriate treatment model and conducts interventions.
• Observes and documents patient information and behaviors; communicates with departments.
• Ensures patients follow daily program schedule and delivers group services.
• Maintains accurate electronic health records, logs, and charts in a timely manner.
• Supervises medication self-administration and documents inventories under nursing supervision.
• Transit patients to off-site appointments or activities safely.
• Conducts routine facility checks for safety and security; completes urine testing.
• Attends required staff trainings and meetings; supports Phoenix House Mission and Values.
