Job summary

Ann Arbor Public Schools is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide clinical skills instruction and implement behavior reduction protocols for students with Autism and related developmental disabilities. The RBT works in school and community settings under BCBA supervision and on-site leadership.

The role requires a current RBT certification or willingness to obtain one, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and comfort working with diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Must hold and maintain current BACB RBT certification or be willing to obtain it.
• Experience working with students in autism or related developmental disabilities.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Capable of moving and maintaining various postures for extended periods.
• Ability to collect, record, and report data and communicate progress.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct student service in classroom settings using intensive teaching and natural environment training.
• Follow the behavior intervention plan.
• Collect, record, and interpret data on observable student behavior.
• Support BCBA and teachers with parent training in line with IEPs.
• Communicate student progress to staff and parents; maintain confidentiality.
• Collaborate with the IEP team and attend required trainings.
• Meet with the BCBA weekly and participate in on-site duties as assigned.
