Job summary

Varian Medical Systems, a Siemens Healthineers company, is hiring an on-site Validation Specialist in Palo Alto, CA. The role focuses on representing clinical users and patients to improve design validation of oncology products, with travel up to 25%.

Ideal candidates have Radiation Therapist certification and 5 years of clinical experience in Radiation Oncology, plus experience with ARIA/Eclipse and related systems.

Qualifications

• Current clinical certification as Radiation Therapist and 5 years of clinical experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign degree equivalent plus 5 years of clinical experience.
• Experience with simulation, imaging, and treatment delivery workflows in radiation therapy.
• Knowledge of IMRT/VMAT delivery and stereotactic radiosurgeries (SRS/SBRT).
• Radiation safety practices and safe handling of ionizing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Validate products to ensure safety, effectiveness, and use with objective evidence.
• Discuss clinical practices with Product Management, UX, and Design to define requirements.
• Provide feedback to improve design, development, and validation of oncology products.
• Support Oncology Information Systems, Treatment Planning, and Imaging Systems.
• Define strategies for thorough design validation of new products.
• Develop and execute design validation plans meeting requirements.
• Participate in requirements analysis, use case development, and risk analysis.
• Write test designs/procedures with traceability to requirements and mitigations.
• Collaborate with Verification Engineers and Marketing to resolve usability issues.
• Travel globally (5-25%) to support validation efforts.
