Job summary

Siemens Healthineers’ Varian division in Palo Alto, CA seeks a Validation Specialist with clinical Radiation Oncology background to ensure safe, effective products. You will work on-site with global teams to validate workflows, test designs, and risk analyses for Oncology Systems.

The role emphasizes collaboration with PM, UX, and Design Engineering, plus travel as needed to support validation across products and regions.

Qualifications

• Current clinical certification/registration as Radiation Therapist plus five years of Radiation Oncology clinical experience.
• Experience with IMRT/VMAT and SRS/SBRT workflows.
• Knowledge of radiation safety practices and equipment.
• Familiarity with Varian products and oncology information systems.

Responsibilities

• Validate that products are safe, effective, and meet user needs with objective test evidence.
• Discuss clinical practices with Product Management, UX, and Design Engineering to define requirements.
• Provide feedback to improve design, development, and modification of radiation products.
• Support ongoing maintenance of Varian’s Oncology Systems and Treatment Planning tools.
• Develop and execute design validation plans to meet requirements.
• Participate in requirements analysis, use case development, and risk assessment.
• Analyze tests, establish traceability to requirements and risk mitigations.
• Collaborate with Verification Engineers and stakeholders to resolve usability and scope issues.
• Travel globally (5-25%) to support validation efforts.
