Job summary

Hanwha Philly Shipyard is seeking a Quality Assurance/Inspector to ensure safety procedures are followed, witness tests, and prepare quality records. You will coordinate QC tasks with multiple departments, attend meetings, and manage the outfitting quality for assigned vessel areas.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, 2+ years related experience (or 5 years shipboard), knowledge of piping systems, ability to read blueprints, and basic Microsoft Office skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years related experience in discipline or 5 years in shipboard piping, machinery, and/or similar installations.
• Knowledge of piping systems and shipboard equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints; trainable if needed.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures and complete required quality records.
• Perform inspections and witness tests per shipyard procedures.
• Coordinate QC work with other departments (start-up, engineering, outfitting).
• Attend meetings and provide feedback to management.
• Own assigned project scope for quality outfitting across a vessel or section.
• Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy and functionality per requirements.
• Perform incoming inspections with material control staff.
• Visually inspect outfitting functions, piping, flanges, valves, and tests.
