Job summary

Intertek is seeking a 3rd Party Vendor Surveillance Inspector in Manitowoc, WI to act as on-site QC representative for standby generator enclosures and LV/MV diesel packages, ensuring conformance to welding, mechanical, electrical and coating standards. You will manage digital inspections via BIM360/ACC/CxAlloy, track NCRs, and collaborate with supplier quality teams to close issues before dispatch.

This is a temporary, full-time role—40–50 hours weekly for six months.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on quality inspection experience in industrial manufacturing, heavy power generation, automotive, or aerospace sectors.
• Advanced proficiency reading electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs), P&IDs, and structural drawings.
• Welding standards knowledge (AWS D1.1, ISO 9606, or BS EN) with visual inspection expertise.
• Strong background in LV/MV electrical distribution, insulation testing, and grounding safety.
• Proficiency with precision measurement devices and laser alignment tools.
• Experience completing digital checklists and tracking NCRs via BIM360/ACC/CxAlloy.
• ISO 9001 internal auditor certification or CWI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Site quality inspections and deficiency tracking.
• Log non-conformances with photographic evidence in BIM360/ACC/CxAlloy.
• Partner with supplier quality managers to drive root-cause analysis and NCR closure.
• Execute structural and mechanical checks per criteria (enclosures, doors, gaskets, coatings).
• Witness hydrostatic/pneumatic leak testing and prevent deviations.
• Verify CTQ envelope dimensions with laser measurements.
• Audit LV/MV electrical systems and test wiring/grounding practices.
• Observe generator load bank testing and control sequence validation.
• Perform welding checks and review NDT documentation.
• FOD prevention and shipping sign-off prior to dispatch.
