Job summary

Intertek is seeking a 3rd Party Vendor Surveillance Inspector for on-site work in Houma, LA. The role requires rigorous inspections of generator enclosures, electrical systems, and welding. You will log issues digitally and coordinate with suppliers to close NCRs, supporting final release before shipment.

The position is temporary but full-time, ~40–50 hours/week for six months, with extensive field inspections and verification of conformance to AWS/EN standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on quality inspection experience in industrial manufacturing, heavy power generation, automotive, or aerospace sectors.
• Schematic/blueprint reading: advanced proficiency with electrical diagrams, structural drawings and mechanical layouts.
• Welding standards: knowledge of AWS D1.1, ISO 9606, or BS EN with visual inspection.
• Electrical & controls knowledge: LV/MV distribution, breaker testing, grounding and control panels.
• Metrology & quality tools: proficiency with precision measurement devices, torque wrenches, DFT gauges, laser tools.
• Software/digital inspection: experience with BIM360, ACC or CxAlloy for NCR tracking.

Responsibilities

• Site quality inspections and deficiency tracking.
• Digital issue logging with photographic evidence in BIM360/ACC/CxAlloy.
• Collaborate with supplier quality managers to drive root-cause analysis and NCR closures.
• Execute enclosure final checkpoints and CTQ envelope verification.
• Witness hydrostatic/pneumatic tests and dynamic tests per specs.
• Perform dimensional metrology with laser measurement tools.
• Audit LV/MV systems, wiring, grounding, and control panels.
• Witness generator load bank testing and insulation resistance checks.
• Perform welding checks on structural components and review NDT documentation.
• Conduct FOD checks and pre-dispatch shipping sign-off.
