Job summary

BASF Bishop site is seeking a QC Laboratory Instrument Technician to maintain, calibrate and repair analytical instruments in a cGMP QC lab, supporting production and release activities.

The role requires hands-on experience with gas chromatographs, HPLC, ICP-OES, FTIR, and related equipment; an associate degree is required with 3 years of instrumentation experience (5+ preferred). You will work independently within a collaborative team, applying strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Instrumentation, Chemistry, or a related technical field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3 years of experience maintaining analytical lab instrumentation; 5+ years preferred.
• Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative lab team.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; self-starter with multiple tasks.
• Ability to write technical reports and method validations; update lab documentation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair laboratory instrumentation in a cGMP QC laboratory.
• Perform preventive maintenance to maximize instrument uptime and reliability.
• Support instrument qualifications, upgrades, and new equipment installations.
• Maintain maintenance and calibration records in compliance with quality requirements.
• Partner with laboratory staff and external service providers to resolve technical issues.
• Provide training and support to the laboratory staff to help ensure compliance with cGMP and ISO requirements, including data integrity.
