Job summary

AWP Safety is North America’s leading traffic control and work zone safety partner, protecting crews and communities. The Purchasing Clerk supports procurement, maintains data accuracy, and collaborates with sales, operations, and vendors to ensure product availability and smooth operations.

Preferred schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM; fully on-site role with comprehensive benefits including medical/dental, life insurance, LTD, HSA/FSA options, 401(k), PTO, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years purchasing, procurement, inventory control, supply chain, or related administrative experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Experience working with ERP, inventory management, or purchasing systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, pricing, and order processing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate & timely communication with all departments and vendors.
• Facilitate smooth workflow between departments.
• Closely monitor and manage ETAs.
• Maintain SKU data incl. retails, costs, part numbers & product notes.
• Forecast demand with outside sales and operations.
• Approve or challenge vendor invoices and expenses.
• Prepare purchase orders and review for accuracy.
• Resolve purchasing discrepancies and backorders.
• Update discontinuations and seek alternatives.
• Process vendor claims and returns promptly.
