Job summary

Four-State-Trucks is seeking a purchasing professional to negotiate with vendors, place orders, and manage inventory for resale. You will use inventory systems to track usage, confirm costs on orders, and secure alternate vendors to fill gaps as needed.

This role supports efficient stock levels and timely inbound/outbound shipments. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of purchasing experience, excellent customer service, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1 year of purchasing experience, preferably in retail or warehousing.
• Experience in Automotive/Commercial Vehicle parts is a plus.
• Excellent customer service skills required.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Good grammar and spelling; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Summary:

This position is responsible for negotiating with vendors andplacing orders for business needs under the supervision of the PurchasingManager.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Purchases products for resale, usinginventory systems to track usage and quantities needed. Negotiate for best costing and programming onbehalf of the company.

Makes decisions on best purchasingpractices for a multiple vendor/product system.

Confirms costs on purchase orders,ensuring correct amounts charged.

Tracks backorders, noting adjusted ship dates and products,securing alternate vendors to fill voids as needed.

Finds viable solutions for stock outs, discontinues, &extended ETAs through all sourcing channels.

Manage correct stocking levels for assigned vendors.

Schedules shipping for inbound shipments for various vendorshipments.

Schedules shipping for outbound shipments to regionalwarehouses.

Issues reports, vendor follow up, and order tracking.

Creates purchase orders, following up on dropship orders withvendors on ship dates.

Build relationships with Vendors, meet with vendors forpreferred costing, supply and service.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

High School diploma, or GED equivalent needed.

1 year of purchasing work experience needed, preferably forretail or warehousing business.

Prior Experience in Automotive Parts, Commercial Vehicleparts experience is a plus

Excellent customer service skills required.

Strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving, andorganizational skills.

Proficient with MS Office, especially Word, Excel, Outlook.

Proficient in grammar and spelling areas, ability tomulti-task as needed.

Must maintain a positive attitude with a customer servicefocus in a fast- paced work environment.

Working Conditions:
