Job summary

Services for the UnderServed in New York, NY seeks an On-site Property Manager to oversee 4–5 multifamily buildings in the Bronx and Brooklyn, serving as the owner’s liaison with residents and staff. The role requires coordinating maintenance, inspections, and occupancy turnover while ensuring compliance with LIHTC and related programs.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in property management for affordable housing, strong budgeting and communication skills, and the ability to lead teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in property management for affordable housing with LIHTC/Section 8 experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Yardi experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; additional degree preferred.
• Passionate about S:US mission and supportive housing.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Highly organized, detail oriented and self-motivated.
• Ability to supervise other staff in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent written, oral, and email communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Visit each property weekly and conduct inspections to uphold company standards.
• Coordinate with Facilities and superintendents to complete work orders timely.
• Minimize municipal violations and address regulatory issues with agencies.
• Manage landlord responsibilities during turnover and coordinate inspections for LIHTC units.
• Coordinate with Contracts Manager for outside vendors and assess vendor performance.
• Notify Directors when outside contractors are needed and arrange access for work.
• Ensure inspections are ready and attend housing court hearings as needed.
• Assist tenants with required documentation for LIHTC or NYCHA programs.
