Job summary

Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc. is seeking Project Engineers to join our growing teams. The Project Engineer works with Project Managers and Superintendents to coordinate project activities to ensure that goals or objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.

This role is located on-site at an active project in Annapolis, MD. Applicants typically hold a BA/BS or related experience, with familiarity in project scheduling and shop drawings, and possess a valid

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with Primevara and SureTrack scheduling packages.
• A valid operator’s license.
• Computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Assist project superintendent to resolve field problems and provide design information.
• Review, coordinate, and verify shop drawings conform with contract documents and oversee distribution from submission to final approval.
• Assemble data for and prepare change orders and contract changes for PM review and submission.
• Assist PM and superintendent in coordinating, expediting, and supervising subcontractor performance.
• Assist with coordinating and expediting delivery of materials and equipment to maintain the construction schedule.
• Assist in preparation of periodic costs reports and applications for payment to owner.
• Ensure supervision of quality control activities and suggest corrective actions for discrepancies.
• Attend job progress meetings, keep records, and distribute minutes to project participants.
• Coordinate acquisition of and review records drawings, manuals, tests, and start-up data; maintain as-built drawings.
