Genesis Technical Staffing is seeking an on-site Project Engineer in Roxana, IL to serve as the primary liaison between local site personnel and office execution teams. The candidate should have 5+ years in project engineer/manager roles within refining or industrial facilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in the field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• 5+ years in project engineer/manager roles in refining, petrochemical, or industrial facilities.
• Strong understanding of brownfield execution and owner-contractor interface management.
• Excellent communication, organization, and relationship management skills.
• Willingness to work in the field; pass background checks, drug screening; TWIC credentials.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary on-site liaison between local client staff and the client’s engineering, project management, and support personnel.
• Facilitate efficient communication, coordination, and issue resolution between refinery stakeholders and other offices.
• Support integration of project execution activities across engineering, procurement, construction, and site operations.
• Assist in coordinating Management of Change (MOC) activities and track inputs, reviews, and approvals.
• Identify, develop, and define new project scope opportunities with client personnel.
• Coordinate site information gathering, site walkthroughs, and scope validation for deliverables and execution plans.
• Align project priorities, technical requirements, schedules, and work processes between client personnel and project teams.
• Provide on-site input to improve constructability, operability, and execution readiness.
• Monitor project interfaces and drive timely decisions to minimize delays, rework, and risk.
• Participate in client meetings, planning sessions, scope reviews, and other coordination activities.
• Maintain strong working relationships with site operations, maintenance, engineering, and project stakeholders.
• Support safe work practices and ensure coordination aligns with site requirements.
• Provide regular status updates to client leadership regarding project opportunities and execution needs.
• Perform as Project Manager for small projects.
