Job summary

Triad Control Systems, a Newtron Group company, is seeking an experienced Project Manager for an onsite refinery assignment in Ardmore, Oklahoma. You will manage capital, maintenance, and facility-improvement projects from planning through closeout, embedded with the client team.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in industrial projects, brownfield refinery experience, and strong leadership with safety and cost-control focus.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of industrial project experience in refinery, petrochemical, or similar facilities.
• Experience managing projects in an operating/brownfield facility.
• Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project controls.
• Experience managing multiple contractors, engineering disciplines, vendors, and client stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of project estimating, scheduling, cost control, forecasting, change management, and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned capital, maintenance, and facility improvement projects within an operating refinery environment.
• Serve as primary project interface between client stakeholders, engineering, contractors, vendors, operations, maintenance, and construction personnel.
• Develop and manage project scope, schedule, budget, execution plans, and deliverables.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project closeout activities.
• Monitor project costs, forecasts, commitments, schedules, and overall project performance.
• Manage contractors and engineering resources to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.
• Lead project meetings and communicate project status, risks, priorities, and action items to stakeholders.
• Review engineering packages, contractor proposals, estimates, schedules, change orders, and project documentation.
• Identify project risks, constraints, and potential cost or schedule impacts and develop appropriate mitigation plans.
• Coordinate project activities with refinery Operations and Maintenance to minimize disruption to operating units.
• Support constructability reviews, field execution planning, outage/turnaround coordination, and commissioning activities as required.
• Ensure projects comply with client safety requirements, engineering standards, specifications, procedures, and applicable codes.
• Manage project turnover, documentation, punch-list completion, and final closeout.

About the Role

Triad Control Systems is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Plant Services team for an onsite assignment supporting capital and facility projects within a refinery in Ardmore Oklahoma.

This individual will be embedded onsite with the client and responsible for managing projects from planning and engineering through procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout. The ideal candidate will have a strong background executing projects in an operating refinery, petrochemical, chemical, or similar heavy industrial environment.

This is an anticipated 6-month assignment with the potential for extension based on project and client needs. Per diem is available for candidates who meet applicable eligibility requirements.

• Demonstrated experience managing projects in an operating/brownfield facility.
• Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project controls.
• Experience managing multiple contractors, engineering disciplines, vendors, and client stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of project estimating, scheduling, cost control, forecasting, change management, and risk management.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, project schedules, and construction documentation.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while embedded within the client's project organization.
• Must be able to work onsite at the refinery for the duration of the assignment.

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of refinery, petrochemical, or chemical industry project experience.
• Previous experience working directly for or embedded within an owner/operator project organization.
• Experience managing brownfield capital projects in active process units.
• Experience with refinery turnarounds, outages, tie-ins, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical discipline preferred; equivalent relevant industrial project experience will be considered.
• PMP certification is a plus but not required.
