Job summary

JCW Group is seeking a hands‑on Contract Project Engineer to support the structured shutdown and decommissioning of multiple facilities in the Kansas City metro. This 6‑month, on‑site role involves coordinating third‑party vendors and managing day‑to‑day shutdown activities across two sites.

You’ll work closely with the Engineering Director, adapting quickly to changing priorities and taking ownership of tasks from vendor quotes to site walks with the HSE team.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in facilities, plant, or project engineering.
• Comfortable on the floor working with vendors, not remote management.
• Knowledge of LOTO and hazardous energy control concepts.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate vendor activity across decommissioning sites, obtain quotes, issue PO requests, and be the on‑site contact.
• Review LOTO procedures, flag concerns, escalate to HSE as needed.
• Support systematic utility and equipment shutdowns across multiple buildings.
• Provide real‑time status updates to the Engineering Director and unblock progress.
• Use SAP for asset and maintenance tracking.
