Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Project Engineer to be based on our Iowa job sites in Cedar Rapids or Des Moines. You will support commercial and mission-critical projects, helping to manage scope, schedule, and budgets while collaborating with field teams.

Responsibilities include document control, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and schedule tracking. A related degree and two years of project engineering experience are preferred; familiarity with Procore and MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years’ project engineering experience
• Experience in a fast-paced environment
• Proven history of leading others successfully and to teach, develop and mentor others
• Industry related college degree
• Data center experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize, update, and post construction documents and drawings
• Collaborate with project team on RFIs and submittals
• Review documents for accuracy against plans and specs
• Assist in inspections, audits, and non-conformance logs
• Monitor material and equipment delivery status
• Maintain project logs (buyouts, submittals, RFIs)
• Understand scopes of work for subcontracts and purchase orders
• Track change orders and draft within delegated authority
• Support project schedule management
• Attend meetings and record minutes
• Gather closeout information and assist with warranty process
• Perform other duties as assigned.
