Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a Project Engineer to manage on-site project administration, supervise office engineers, and oversee jobsite operations. You will coordinate with owners, architects, and trade partners, control project costs, and support scheduling to meet project goals.

Ideal candidates have a civil/structural engineering or construction management degree and 2-4 years of large commercial construction experience, with strong communication and software skills including Excel, Prolog,

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management.
• 2-4 years’ experience on large commercial construction projects; valid driver’s license.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience with Prolog, Primavera and AutoDesk Suite preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the project manager and superintendents with data collection and monthly owner pay applications.
• Resolve interface conflicts between the company and trade partners.
• Interpret drawings, specifications, RFIs, and questions from architect/engineer.
• Develop and manage cost control and labor recap.
• Track and report project progress and assist in schedule management.
• Lead weekly owner/architect/contractor meetings and document minutes.
• Mentor the office engineers and jobsite administrator.
