Job summary

Graycor is seeking a Project Accountant to serve as the on-site liaison between project management and accounting. The role ensures proper project setup, tracks costs, communicates variances, and drives the invoicing process in a fast-paced construction environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of relevant accounting experience in construction or industrial environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in work with strong analytical skills.
• Experience with self-perform work and knowledge of unions is a plus.
• Proficient computer skills: Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Experience with JD Edwards project costing or similar systems is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, process and follow-up client billings / invoices.
• Develop and maintain relationships with project team members (PMs, engineers, superintendents, coordinators).
• Enforce billing deadlines and documentation requirements (e.g., insurance certificates).
• Perform timekeeping duties and payroll reporting when site payroll is ready to process.
• Process sub/supplier/equipment invoices for payment and code them in AP workflow.
• Serve as the point person for billing/PO issues for self-performed work.
• Address billing issues such as change orders, margins, and POs; assist with change requests.
