Job summary

Smith & Wesson in Maryville, TN is seeking a Planner to develop daily issue plans that support the production plan of firearms. You will coordinate with Procurement, Cell Coordinators and Team Leaders to ensure plan feasibility and adjust the plan for component supply, while working closely with Inventory Control to maintain accuracy.

The role requires strong analytical skills, teamwork, and the ability to manage multiple activities in an in-office environment in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required OR 3 years of experience in manufacturing or planning.
• Strong analytical, judgment and problem analysis skills.
• Collaborative with strong communication and teamwork.
• Organized planner capable of multitasking.
• APICS certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act on order releases and exception messages from the system.
• Plan and manage production schedules to meet delivery and optimize capacity.
• Manage inventory levels and availability to meet schedules.
• Release Planned Orders for production material and floor stock.
• Interface with Engineering, manufacturing, Purchasing and Supervisors on material status.
