Job summary

3M is seeking a Production Planner for on-site roles in Oak Hills or Monrovia, CA. You will create production and purchasing schedules to meet service targets and collaborate with global teams to optimize inventory and cost.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, 2–3 years in supply chain or manufacturing, and experience with SAP or related ERP systems. Travel up to 20% and relocation may be authorized.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
• Two (2) years combined experience in supply chain, planning, logistics, and/or manufacturing in a private, public, government or military environment.
• Current Valid Driver's License.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain, Operations Management, and/or Business Analytics from an accredited institution.
• ASCM (APICS) CPIM certification is preferred.
• Three (3) years combined experience in supply chain, planning, logistics, and/or manufacturing in a private, public, government or military environment.
• Experience with SAP ERP Software.
• 3M systems experience (Factory Planner, PMCS/IMES, Peoplesoft).
• Experience in Production Planning.
• Knowledge of Supply Planning (SP), Demand Planning (DP), and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes.
• Strong data mining, data analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Suite experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and self-motivational skills.
• Experience working on cross-functional teams.
• Experience utilizing Lean and Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Create Production and Purchasing Schedules to meet service targets.
• Utilize Supply Chain tools and processes to make data-driven decisions to improve Service, Cost, and Inventory.
• Identify and lead cross functional projects across the business to drive improvements in Service, Cost, and Inventory.
• Provide a high degree of analysis to support decision making.
• Publish and present relevant metrics and results (e.g., OTIF, Aged Backlog, NWI).
• Analyze Capacity to determine alignment with Requirements.
• Work closely with Operations to align to business requirements by setting and maintaining target Inventory and Lead Times.
• Actively manage inventories to maintain compliance and achieve targets.
