Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Production Chemist to join our client’s operations in East London, Eastern Cape. You will optimize chemical processes, monitor analyses, troubleshoot issues, and drive improvements to yield and waste reduction in a key energy infrastructure company.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and at least 4 years in production chemistry within the oil and gas sector. Strong analytical skills and lab safety knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Production Chemist or in a similar role within the oil and gas industry.
• Strong understanding of analytical chemistry techniques and instrumentation.
• Experience with production chemistry, including corrosion inhibition, scale control, and emulsion breaking.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized chemical analyses on production samples.
• Monitor and control chemical parameters to optimize process efficiency and product quality.
• Troubleshoot chemical process issues and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and implement chemical treatment programs for production facilities.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations regarding chemical handling and disposal.
