Job summary

The Purchasing Specialist at Florida Panthers Hockey Club will source, evaluate, and procure goods and services to support day-to-day operations across the organization. You will manage vendor relationships, track POs, and collaborate with Finance and Operations to align purchasing with budget and goals.

Responsibilities include negotiating terms, monitoring inventory, resolving pricing issues, and ensuring compliance with purchasing policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience or relevant certifications.
• 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Proficiency with purchasing/ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate suppliers/vendors based on price, quality, reliability, and delivery timelines.
• Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders (POs) through fulfillment.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors within assigned category.
• Monitor inventory levels and reorder points to prevent shortages or overstock.
• Resolve discrepancies related to pricing, delivery, quality, or invoicing.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and vendor documentation.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with key suppliers.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Finance, Operations, department heads) to forecast needs and align purchasing with budget.
• Research market trends and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.
• Assist with vendor onboarding and accounts payable process.
