Job summary

Akima Mission Optimization (AMO), an Akima company, is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support NSWC Corporate Operations in Dam Neck, VA. You will manage procurement activities across the life cycle and ensure FIAR audit readiness.

On-site position requiring US citizenship, Interim Secret clearance preferred, and an associate degree or equivalent experience. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Must be US citizen with a current Interim Secret or higher clearance (active DoD Secret preferred).
• Associate's degree, OR three (3) years or more of related work experience.
• Ability to work independently across multiple online systems to resolve issues and respond to customer inquiries.
• Knowledge of MILSTRIP, PCard, and SAPs.
• Knowledge of IBPES, ERP, and other tools/systems used to support the procurement process.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the review and analysis of procurement requirements for internal and external customers in major Programs across NSWCDD.
• Determine the appropriate and compliant procurement vehicle which conforms to FAR requirements and assist customers with completing the necessary procurement documentation to ensure FIAR audit readiness.
• Oversee the life-cycle procurement process to include material screening, IT Procurement Review (ITPR) Coordination, PR creation and buying actions, discrepancy reporting, and DRMO coordination.
• Manage procurement processes to analyze and independently evaluate requirements while maintaining rapid response to stakeholder and client inquiries.
• Leverage and apply advanced knowledge of Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) to advise on the purchases of goods and services to support efficient procurement practices.
