Job summary

Pima Medical Institute - Seattle campus is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician Substitute Instructor to join our faculty on an as-needed basis. This on-site role delivers lectures, leads practical labs, and assesses student competencies when regular instructors are unavailable.

The position offers flexible PRN hours with a competitive hourly wage. Ideal candidates hold CRCST or CSPDT certification, have three years of related experience, and can mentor adult learners while ensuring safety

Qualifications

• Must have graduation from a Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology program accredited by a recognized agency (USDE/CHEA) or equivalent.
• Minimum of four years of job-related training and experience in sterile processing for non-graduates.
• Active CRCST or CSPDT certification and current license/designation as required by local/state/federal laws.
• Proficient verbal and written communication; working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individual lesson plans and practical lab demonstrations covering decontamination, sterilization, instrumentation, and lab safety.
• Evaluate student hands-on lab techniques, assess assignments, and grade course work within 72 hours using established tools.
• Supervise students in classroom and lab to ensure PPE, biohazard handling, and safety guidelines are followed.
• Complete required student records, including attendance, incident reports, and academic alerts.
• Document academic or behavioral concerns and communicate with campus academic leadership.
• Participate in faculty development, in-service events, or program meetings during coverage periods.
