Job summary

Pima Medical Institute in Seattle is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician Substitute Instructor to join our faculty on a PRN basis. You will deliver lectures, supervise sterile processing labs, and evaluate competencies for adult learners.

The role offers flexible hours as needed, with on-site instruction, competitive hourly pay, and opportunities to mentor students while maintaining a non-full-time schedule. Prior teaching or clinical instruction is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology program.
• Active CRCST or CSPDT certification.
• Current license/credential required to work in the field.
• Minimum of four (4) years of job-related training and experience in sterile processing.

Responsibilities

• Substitute Instruction & Practical Labs: deliver lessons and lead labs as needed.
• Lesson & Lab Delivery: perform individual lesson plans and lab sessions covering decontamination, sterilization, instrumentation, and safety.
• Competency Verification & Grading: assess hands-on lab work and grade coursework within 72 hours.
• Safety & Regulatory Standards: enforce PPE use, biohazard handling, and safety guidelines in class and lab.
• Academic Support & Documentation: complete attendance, incident reports, and academic alerts.
• Student Advisory Support: document and communicate concerns to academic leadership.
• Compliance & Engagement: participate in faculty development, in-service events, and program meetings.
