Job summary

Kirby is hiring a Power Generation Commissioning Technician II to install, commission and service generators at customer sites across multiple locations. You will read schematics, perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and document actions with detailed service reports.

Travel and varied schedules are required; candidates should have 3+ years of power generation or diesel engine experience and knowledge of NFPA and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of power generation, electrical systems, controls or diesel engine experience.
• Experience servicing generators from major OEMs (Cummins, CAT, Kohler, MTU or equivalent).
• Knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NFPA 110 and OSHA electrical codes.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documents.
• Ability to travel extensively and work varying schedules.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, inspect, troubleshoot, maintain and repair generators.
• Perform preventive maintenance and service on power generation equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, fuel, cooling and control issues.
• Test equipment, verify performance, and document findings with reports.
• Read manuals and schematics; coordinate with customers and managers.
• Support startup, commissioning, and system modifications.
