Job summary

Software Placement Group is seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee payroll processing across salaried, hourly, and grant-funded staff in a Brooklyn, NY setting.

You will ensure accurate, timely payroll, compliance with laws, and collaboration with Finance and HR to uphold payroll integrity. Strong Excel and payroll software experience are required, with 3–5 years in payroll administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field required.
• 3–5 years of payroll administration experience required.
• Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and wage and hour requirements.
• Proficiency with payroll systems and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for salaried, hourly, and grant-funded employees.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule in compliance with laws and policies.
• Review and approve payroll registers, tax filings, and wage payments.
• Maintain payroll calendars, pay periods, deadlines, and year-end processing.
• Oversee payroll tax filings, W‑2s, 1099s, and other reports.
• Respond to payroll audits and coordinate with external auditors as needed.
• Collaborate with HR on onboarding, offboarding, and status changes.
• Reconcile payroll accounts with Finance for GL postings.
• Support payroll system upgrades and process improvements.
