Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Company is offering an Operations Engineering Internship located in multiple sites, including Topeka, KS.

You will work on the plant floor with technicians and salaried staff to learn manufacturing processes, identify improvement opportunities, and manage projects end-to-end. Ideal candidates are engineering students poised to contribute by defining problems, collecting data, and delivering results while adhering to safety standards in both office and plant settings.

Qualifications

• Must be a rising sophomore, junior, or senior in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial preferred).
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Capable of working in office and plant environments and following safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with plant technicians to identify process improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate activities of contractors, hourly technicians, and other resources.
• Prepare standard reports and documentation to communicate results.
• Manage projects from scope development to verification and completion.
• Collect and analyze data to drive improvements and engage with salaried staff and technicians.
