Job summary

Baron Capital is seeking a Cleaning Assistant to join the Workplace Operations team onsite in New York. You will partner with another Cleaning Assistant, Receptionist, and Office Manager to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming workplace for employees and visitors.

This position is on-site and involves physical work such as lifting, stocking, and moving materials. It is structured as a temporary-to-permanent opportunity with benefits eligibility based on status.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning/janitorial experience is a plus but no required.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism with employees and visitors
• Clear and effective communication with team and supervisors
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
• Adaptability to changes in schedules or tasks.
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move cleaning equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain office areas across three floors, including kitchens, bathrooms, staircases, and common spaces.
• Perform daily custodial tasks such as trash removal, dusting, mopping, and general upkeep.
• Restock cleaning and office supplies, notifying the Office Manager of any supply needs.
• Coordinate with building maintenance staff and report any necessary repairs or concerns to the Office Manager.
• Keep storage areas, including closets, cabinets, conference rooms, and shelving neat and organized.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and promptly report any safety hazards or incidents to supervisors promptly.
• Respond promptly and professionally to employee inquiries or concerns.
• Ensure kitchen areas are clean, organized, and well‑stocked with beverages, snacks, and utensils.
• Maintain bathroom cleanliness, including restocking necessary supplies (soap, paper towels, etc.).
• Assist with laundering office towels.
• Support other office management tasks as needed to maintain a smooth and efficient workplace.
• Assist with ad hoc projects such as preparing, setting up, and cleaning up for company events and catering.
