J.B. Hunt Mobile Mechanic II provides intermediate maintenance and repair services for tractors, trailers, and power equipment at customer sites using a mobile service truck.

You will troubleshoot ABS, manage shop-on-site tasks, and document work orders while following safety protocols. The role requires outdoor work, availability for nights/weekends, and relevant DOT/FHWA experience; a clean driving record and basic tools are needed.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 18 years old for equipment up to 10,000 lbs, 21+ with 2 years’ experience for heavier gear.
• Ability to supply basic tools or use toolbox program.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather and across shifts, including nights/weekends.

Aufgaben

• Perform intermediate preventive maintenance and repairs on tractors, trailers, and power equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair ABS systems and electrical components.
• Operate the mobile service truck safely; manage truck inventory.
• Assist with onboarding and mentoring of trainee technicians.
• Document damages and complete work orders per procedures.
• Demonstrate cutting torch use and mid‑level welding on chassis and frames.
• Patch holes on trailer or container panels; conduct annual FHWA/AA inspections under supervision.
