Job summary

Pace Transportation is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel trucks and related equipment at customer sites in the Bowling Green, KY area. The role emphasizes on-site field service, strong problem-solving, and safety, with occasional trailer work and DOT/HVAC considerations.

Responsibilities include diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and documenting work; candidates should have diesel repair experience, EPA 609, and a valid CDL/driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training a plus.
• 2+ years of diesel repair experience (mobile preferred).
• Exposure to trailer repair is a plus.
• EPA 609 certification required for HVAC work.
• DOT inspection certification (or ability to obtain).
• Welding/fabrication experience is a plus.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on diesel trucks and equipment in a mobile environment.
• Support trailer repair and maintenance, including structural and component repairs as needed.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections, including DOT inspections as applicable.
• Diagnose and repair systems: diesel engine, brake/wheel, electrical/lighting, suspension/steering, trailer components, liftgates/hydraulics, HVAC.
• Perform basic welding and fabrication for trailer repairs as needed.
• Accurately document work performed, parts used, and labor hours on a hard card.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair needs, timelines, and recommendations.
• Maintain organization and inventory of mobile service truck, tools, and parts.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and PPE usage.
• Respond to service calls promptly and manage workload independently.
• Represent the Company professionally at customer locations.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
