Job summary

Pace Transportation Services is seeking an experienced Mobile Diesel Mechanic/Trailer Technician (II or III) to perform on-site repairs for heavy-duty trucks and trailers. This role travels to customer sites, works from home on call, and requires diagnosing complex issues with specialized tools and manuals.

Applicants should have 5+ years in heavy-duty vehicle work, relevant certifications, and proficiency with Cummins diagnostic tools. Competitive wages and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing on heavy-duty trucks and trailers using diagnostic tools.
• Experience meeting Standard Repair Times (SRTs) for repairs.
• Ability to read and apply service manuals, parts books, and QuickServe online.
• Cummins Insite and Cummins EDS system proficiency required or preferred.
• State certification and 5+ years of hands-on heavy-duty tech work are highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Drive to worksites to diagnose and complete complex repairs on heavy duty trucks, trailers, etc.
• Read job orders, observe vehicle operation, and plan work procedures.
• Apply tools and documented procedures to diagnose and repair.
• Complete service worksheets, time sheets, and warranty claims.
• Maintain service truck and perform safety checks and pre/post trip inspections.
• Other duties as assigned.
