Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Considerable experience in mechanical/HVAC/construction inspection.
• Must meet State of Michigan requirements to perform inspections for a governmental subdivision.
• Must possess and maintain required registration/certification/licensing by the State of Michigan.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial mechanical installations to ensure code compliance.
• Inspect mechanical systems including HVAC, boilers, fuel-gas, ducts, and related equipment.
• Identify code violations and communicate required corrections to contractors and property owners.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and prepare written documentation.
• Coordinate inspections with other township departments and respond to questions from stakeholders.
