Associates Systems LLC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and engineer mechanical assemblies, automation systems, and related equipment for precision deep-hole drilling machines. The role emphasizes on-site work, drafting, analysis, and BOM creation.

Responsibilities include designing subsystems, validating mechanical performance, drafting with AutoCAD, and collaborating with fabrication and assembly teams to finalize machines and installations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in design of manufacturing equipment or industrial machinery.
• Applied mathematical skills and mechanical analysis ability.
• Proficient with drafting and AutoCAD; experience with SolidWorks or Inventor.
• Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Design components and sub-systems of precision machines, including tooling, fixtures, and automation systems.
• Analyze mechanical systems including bearings, drive belts, ball screws, motor torque and horsepower requirements, machine components, and weldments.
• Draft details of mechanical components of machines, itemized assembly drawings, floor plan layouts, and installation diagrams using AutoCAD.
• Design hydraulic and pneumatic systems and create schematic drawings.
• Create BOMs for machine assemblies and sub-assemblies.
• Interface with fabrication, machine shop, and assembly departments to complete construction of machines.
