Job summary

Strategic Management Solutions, LLC (SMSI) is seeking a Construction Manager (Project Manager III) to oversee LANL construction projects. This on-site role emphasizes safety, security, and field leadership, with a strong presence on the job site and in the field.

The successful candidate will coordinate construction activities, manage budgets and schedules, and work with multiple departments to ensure compliant, safe, and timely project completion.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of related experience in project or program management.
• Experience planning, scheduling, budgeting, reporting and change control.
• Ability to lead and monitor multiple teams under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, coordinate and manage project activities.
• Provide direction to project teams to achieve objectives.
• Monitor performance against budget and schedule, and implement corrective actions.
• Administer personnel and approve appointments for key roles.
• Review budgets, schedules, estimates and constructability.
• Coordinate with functional departments to ensure project success.
• Identify issues and provide guidance to site managers for execution.
• Contribute to risk management, controls, and project procedures.
• Support proposal preparation and project planning with construction expertise.
• Present performance plans and status updates to sponsors.
