Job summary

Sargent Electric is seeking a highly organized Material Coordinator for our Pittsburgh, PA office. The role is on site and focuses on delivering the right materials to the right crews on the Bloom PIT Campus Power Station project, while ensuring safety and accurate inventory management.

You will manage requisitions, inspect deliveries, and coordinate with purchasing to address shortages and expediting. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential to support look-ahead planning

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
• Experience with Vista, ProjectSight or similar inventory and purchasing tools, barcode or inventory tracking systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Working knowledge of electrical materials and equipment, including conduit, wire, cable, fittings, switchgear, transformers, and related handling, storage, and protection requirements.
• Experience with receiving and inspection procedures, inventory control, requisitions, purchase order tracking, shortages, returns, and expediting.

Responsibilities

• Champion Safety Culture by upholding safety standards in yard and laydown areas.
• Prepare and consolidate requisitions and route to General Superintendent for review.
• Receive, inspect, stage, and inventory material; document discrepancies and protect material.
• Deliver material to work areas and coordinate timing with Area Superintendents.
• Manage shortages, returns, open orders, backorders, and delivery impacts with purchasing.
• Track major package deliveries against installation sequence and flag schedule risks.
• Provide material availability, lead-time, and staging-space input for look-ahead planning.
• Provide receiving records and manifests for invoice reconciliation.
• Coordinate with Purchasing and Vendors on PO status and deliveries.
• Maintain an organized, safe receiving yard and comply with site logistics.
