Job summary

Sargent Electric Company seeks an Assistant Project Manager for our Pittsburgh, PA site. This role supports the planning, coordination, and execution of construction activities with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and operational excellence.

You will collaborate with Project Managers, field teams, and vendors to track schedules, costs, submittals, RFIs, and change orders while maintaining thorough documentation and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a technical college degree with 1-3 years related discipline preferred.
• Some relevant experience, 3-5 years in a multi-trade construction environment, preferred but not required.
• Experience with standard construction management applications (Accubid Anywhere, Vista, Bluebeam, Procore, PlanGrid, Navisworks).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Champion Safety Culture and uphold safety standards across field and office environments.
• Coordinate day-to-day activities related to scope execution, schedule adherence, cost tracking, and issue resolution.
• Develop and monitor project schedules and budgets; track variances and communicate impacts.
• Maintain project document control: drawings, specifications, logs, and records.
• Process submittals and RFIs; support fabrication and field production activities.
• Assist with purchase orders, subcontract coordination, material tracking, and delivery logistics.
• Interface with field teams to support planning, execution, and problem-solving.
• Document changes, risks, and delays; assist with change order development.
• Assist with invoice review, forecasting inputs, and financial reporting.
