Job summary

MacLean-Fogg is seeking an Engineering Intern to apply classroom knowledge to real manufacturing challenges at the Mundelein facility. You will collaborate with engineers, operators, quality professionals, and maintenance teams to understand how products are made and help improve processes behind them.

You will own a meaningful engineering project with guidance, potentially addressing quality, scrap reduction, process improvement, automation support, or material performance.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or closely related field.
• Interest in applying engineering skills to manufacturing challenges.
• Willingness to work with data and learn new tools.
• Ability to collaborate with production teams and support manufacturing goals.
• Availability to work full-time on site for the full 10-week program.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Learn safety practices and follow required procedures in office and manufacturing areas.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers to define a project and develop practical solutions.
• Collect and analyze engineering or production data to identify opportunities and measure results.
• Use CAD, testing equipment, data analysis, root cause analysis, or lean techniques as needed.
• Contribute to improvements in safety, quality, productivity, cost, or product performance.
• Document work and present findings and recommendations to facility leadership.
