Job summary

RHI Magnesita is seeking an Engineering Intern for our York, PA campus to support Production Engineering or Maintenance & Reliability teams. This paid, fully on-site internship offers hands-on project work in safety, process improvement, equipment reliability, and operational excellence.

You’ll gain experience analyzing production data, collaborating with cross‑functional teams, and contributing to standard work, SOPs, and maintenance documentation while developing technical and leadership

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related technical field.
Sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student in good standing.
Strong analytical and organizational abilities with attention to detail.
Proficient with Excel and MS Office; good verbal and written communication.
Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams; safety‑minded.
Preferred exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, reliability principles, or CAD tools.

Responsibilities

Assist with process improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
Collect and analyze production data to identify trends and optimization opportunities.
Support root cause analysis for production challenges and process performance.
Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement projects.
Develop and update SOPs, process documentation, and work instructions.
Support projects involving equipment, processes, and manufacturing systems.
Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve operations.
Assist with preventive and reliability efforts to improve asset effectiveness.
