Job summary

American Crane & Equipment Corporation seeks a Manufacturing Engineer with hands-on fabrication expertise to develop, optimize, and support fabrication and assembly processes for custom crane equipment. You will work closely with welders, fitters, and engineers to drive efficiency, safety, and quality.

The role emphasizes bridging design intent with shop-floor realities, leading lean initiatives, and improving material flow, rigging, and shipping processes in a high-mix, low-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field required.
• Strong fabrication and welding knowledge with hands-on experience in steel structures preferred.
• Experience interpreting blueprints and fabrication drawings; knowledge of GD&T is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize fabrication and assembly processes for custom cranes and equipment.
• Bridge design intent with shop floor realities to improve safety, quality, and throughput.
• Lead lean initiatives to reduce cycle time and waste in engineer-to-order environments.
• Review rigging, handling methods, and shipping provisions for large weldments and components.
• Collaborate across Engineering, Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Safety to drive improvements.
• Support ERP transitions and capital equipment projects with data-driven insights.
