Job summary

MaxIT Consulting – Max Corporate Group is seeking a Manufacturing Accountant / Cost Analyst in City of Industry, CA. This on-site, full-time role focuses on end-to-end cost accounting, including standard costs, BOMs, variances and month-end close, partnering with Operations and Engineering to drive profitability.

You will own inventory valuation, WIP, and manufacturing overhead, with opportunities to influence pricing decisions and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of standard costing, job costing, inventory accounting, overhead absorption, variance analysis and month-end close.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups and data analysis.
• Experience working with manufacturing ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and analyze standard costs, job costs, bills of materials (BOMs), labor rates and manufacturing overhead.
• Investigate material, labor, freight and overhead cost variances and recommend improvements.
• Reconcile inventory, work-in-progress (WIP) and manufacturing-related general ledger accounts.
• Monitor inventory valuation, scrap, obsolete inventory and cycle-count adjustments.
• Support month-end close: journal entries, reconciliations, accruals and financial reporting.
• Analyze gross margins, job profitability, purchase price variances and manufacturing performance.
• Partner with Operations and Engineering to improve costing accuracy and manufacturing efficiency.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, product costing and pricing decisions.
• Develop reports and dashboards to track costs, margins and key performance indicators.
• Support inventory audits, internal controls and continuous improvement initiatives.
