Job summary

MaxIT Consulting – Max Corporate Group in the City of Industry, California seeks a Cost Accountant to own manufacturing cost accounting end to end. The role focuses on standard costs, job costs, BOMs, variance analysis and month-end close, partnering with Operations and Engineering to improve profitability.

You will analyze margins, pricing decisions and costing accuracy with hands-on responsibility on-site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on cost accounting in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of standard costing, job costing and inventory accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills with pivot tables and lookups.
• Experience with manufacturing ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and analyze standard costs, job costs, BOMs, labor rates and overhead.
• Investigate cost variances and recommend improvements.
• Reconcile inventory, WIP and manufacturing GL accounts.
• Monitor inventory valuation, scrap and cycle-count adjustments.
• Support month-end close with journals, reconciliations and reporting.
• Analyze gross margins and job profitability.
• Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to improve costing accuracy.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, pricing decisions.
• Develop reports and dashboards to track costs and KPIs.
• Support inventory audits and internal controls.
